Housing & Homelessness Support
The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act helps ensure that children and youth experiencing homelessness or unstable housing have equal access to a free, appropriate public education.
Students and families may qualify for protections when living in situations such as:
- Temporarily with family or friends due to economic conditions
- In a motel or hotel because other suitable housing is unavailable
- In a homeless or domestic violence shelter
- In a car, trailer, campground, or another temporary situation
